This is sort of for every girl that has felt that just because they are not tiny, they are not beautiful.

(I think this was more therapeutic than anything else, heh, I hope you like it anyway)

The title comes from the Bible, Psalm 139:14.

p.s. The girl doesn't have a name. The only thing that came to my mind was Jakarta.... but that's a type of place....I still like it a lot though, lol. ^^;

p.p.s. She has no hand because I gave up trying after several horrible attempts T___T

if someone made you feel like you had to justify your physical appearance, then you shouldn't feel bad about it. instead you should be more worried about why they have nothing else to think about than "problems" with someone else's body. it's every person's choice how they decide to live their lives and what they decide to do with their bodies, and it's not my right or anyone else's to judge that. and even though i'm considered to be the "tiny" you speak of, i can still empathize with your message because i can't stand it when people comment on how skinny or small i am. it's like, can't you talk about something besides the obvious? it's like saying "omg, you are a human!" yeah, i'm small. i'm sure you've seen or heard of someone being small before. can we move on now?

nice drawing too, by the way. she looks pretty happy despite having an egg-hand. X)

No one has ever made me feel that way, I've just felt that way for most of my life. I totally agree with you though. I've never had comments regarding my size(because apparently, it's more taboo to call someone fat than to call someone really skinny...I don't understand that)

And by no means, do I mean to offend you or anyone else that has a smaller frame, I hope you know. I just feel that it seems like almost everyone else is tiny compared to me and I think other people like me would feel the same.

Heh, thank you! Yeaaah, that hand lol....i need to do some hand practice, baadly. It seems like I've just forgotten and it really sucks. (Even tho I find it oddly fun to give people no fingers or toes :XD: )

yeah, i don't understand that taboo thing either. so, apparently people think it's ok to talk about someone else's body only if they are unusually skinny, but it's wrong to say, "hey, your booty is big!" or "hey, you have a huge nose!" i dislike double standards and hypocrisy more than most things in this world. by only complimenting certain body types and not talking about others, people automatically imply that other qualities are not as good.

don't worry, no offense was taken. i used to be like you and worry about how i look, for most of my life. i was so self-conscious that i wouldn't talk to anyone. but now i try to not focus on trivial, shallow things like physical appearance, especially about myself, because i think it has a vicious, cyclical effect... the more i focus on it about myself, the more i focus on it about others, and vice versa. i feel like there are much more interesting and important things to think about in life than what we look like. after all, we're all made of the exact same goo. i hope i'm not out of line here, but i want to make you feel like you don't have to worry about your body too. i think almost everyone is dissatisfied with their appearance at some point or another.

anyway...a tip for drawing hands: look at your own while you draw! also, imply the shapes, it doesn't have to be perfectly realistic because people's minds tend to fill in the blanks. although having egg hands is pretty awesome too... she could mash potatoes perfectly!

Yeah, that's so true (unfortunately).

You're not out of line at all, I totally understand, and I appreciate it very much. You make a lot of good points that'll be good for me to take into account.

LOL, yes, because Jakarta loves mashed potatoes (yes, I've officially named her that). And thanks for the tips.

Aw this is very true ^_^

I think all women are beautiful and that's how God sees us. We (girls) should appreciate these things more... it hurts to me to see such pretty people looking down at themselves =(

I understand the difficulty with hands (I can't draw them at all! xD), but she looks adorable anyway
